Domestic equity benchmarks ended a volatile session on Tuesday about half a per cent lower amid weakness in financial and oil & gas stocks, snapping a two-day winning run and retreating from all-time highs. Globally, caution persisted among investors ahead of key inflation data and a rate decision by the Fed due this week.

The Nifty lost 90.7 points for the day to end at 20,906.4, reversing course after hitting a lifetime high of 21,037.9 in intraday trade, while the Sensex shed 377.5 points to 69,551. 

Here are the 10 stocks that buzzed most in trade on December 12: 

RVNL: The railway PSU’s stock gave up its intraday gains to finish the day mildly lower at Rs 178 apiece on BSE, after the company’s JV with URC won a contract from MP Metro Rail Corporation. 

JTEKT India: The stock gained over four per cent to Rs 138.1 after the auto components maker bagged an order from JTEKT Brazil for the supply of loose parts. 

Thermax: The stock rose around two per cent to close at Rs 2,723.7 apiece after the company’s subsidiary bagged an order worth over Rs 500 crore from a leading energy conglomerate. 

SBI: State Bank of India shares came within inches of a record high scaled a year ago after Nomura maintained a ‘buy’ call on the lender, but finished the day 0.3 per cent weaker at Rs 612 tracking the overall market trend. 

Star Health, ICICI Lombard: Health insurance stocks were a mixed bag after Zee Business reported, citing sources, that the Centre planned to increase the sum assured under the PMJAY scheme to Rs 10-15 lakh from Rs 5 lakh.

BLS International: Shares of the visa processing service provider surged seven per cent to Rs 317 after the company secured a contract from the High Commission of India (HCI) in Canada.  

Subros: The auto ancillary firm’s stock ended 0.4 per cent lower at Rs 496.9 after the company’s management guided for a strong outlook in a meeting with analysts. 

Infibeam Avenues: The fintech firm’s stock jumped seven per cent to Rs 23.3 after the company partnered with Bandhan Bank for EMI services. 

L&T Technology Services: L&T Tech shares ended mildly lower at Rs 4,937.1, in tandem with the overall market, after the IT company inked a multi-year engineering contract with BP Plc. 

Capri Global: Capri Global shares ended 0.5 per cent lower at 760.2 after the company bagged a licence from insurance regulator IRDAI for carrying insurance business.
