Indian equities ended the first session of the last week of CY 2023 on a firm note led by gains in metal, pharma and auto pack. Sensex at the close, ended 229.84 points, or 0.32 per cent higher at 71,336.8, while Nifty added 91.95 points or 1.41 per cent to settle at 21,441.35. Meanwhile, broader markets outperformed the headline indices.

Bharat Electronics:

As CLSA raised the target price on the defence PSU, shares after notching a fresh all-time high ended over 4 per cent higher at Rs 182.5.

United Spirits, United Breweries etc:

Shares of liquor stocks ended higher after Gujarat allowed consumption of liquor in hotels, clubs etc in the GIFT City.

J Kumar Infra:

Shares of the infra major ended locked in 20 per cent upper circuit at Rs 593.2 after CLSA estimates 50 per cent upside potential.

Wipro:

Shares of the IT major continued with their winning run on Tuesday and ended over 1 per cent higher at Rs 468.6.

Infosys:

Shares of the Bengaluru-headquartered IT services provider ended with a cut of over 1 per cent at Rs 1546.2 as USD 1.5 billion global AI deal is terminated.

Motisons Jewellers:

The stock, after  a stellar debut with listing gains of 98 per cent, ended 88 per cent higher at Rs 103.55.

Muthoot Microfin:

Shares of the NBFC on its listing day ended with a cut of over 8 per cent at Rs 265.8.

PNC Infra:

Shares of the infra company ended around 2 per cent higher at Rs 351.5 as the company’s subsidiary received provisional completion certificate for UP-based National Highway project.

PFC:

Shares of the financing arm ended over 1 per cent higher at Rs 392.35 as the company incorporated the SPV for transmission projects in Gujarat.
