Indian equities ahead of the Q3 earnings season ended the second trading session of the ongoing year on a negative note. Also, the escalating tensions on the Red Sea are keeping investors on the edge. At the close, Nifty ended 0.35 per cent or 76.1 lower at 21,665.8, while Sensex settled 379.46 or 0.53 per cent lower at 71,892.48.

LIC:

LIC shares ended 2 per cent lower at Rs 837.7 after having been slapped with a demand notice of about ₹806 crore on it for alleged short payment of GST for 2017-18. 

Surya Roshni:

Shares of the electrical major ended over 3 per cent lower at Rs 770.5 amid profit selling in the counter.

Gujarat Alkalies:

The company has inked a MoU with Vedanta for finding opportunities in caustic-chlorine and other areas. Shares ended 0.6 per cent higher at Rs 815.45.

Alembic Pharma:

Shares of the company ended over 3 per cent higher at Rs 792.45 amid spurt in trading volume.

Bharti Airtel:

Shares of the telco major ended around 1 per cent higher at Rs 1022.75 as the company's subsidiary as part of group restructuring is set to acquire a group entity.

Snowman Logistics:

The shares of the logistics solution provider ended with a cut of over 1 per cent at Rs 64.05 per share. The company has commenced operations at a newly leased multi-temperature-controlled warehouse in Guwahati, Assam.
