Avenue Supermarts: Avenue Supermarts Ltd, which owns and operates the retail chain D-Mart, reported on Saturday a 9.09 per cent fall in consolidated net profit at Rs 623.35 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, as gross margins were impacted due to a lesser contribution from the general merchandise and apparel business. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 685.71 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago, said Avenue Supermarts in a regulatory filing. READ MORE

Earnings today: Cyient DLM, CEAT, Nelco, and Federal Bank are among some of the companies that are slated to release their September quarter numbers later in the day. 

Tata Motors: Tata Motors on Friday said it had inked a pact to sell a 9.9 per cent stake in Tata Technologies to TPG Rise Climate for Rs 1,613.7 crore. The company has entered into share purchase agreements to sell a 9.9 per cent stake in Tata Technologies Ltd (TTL) for an aggregate consideration of Rs 1,613.7 crore, the Mumbai-based auto major said in a statement.

PVR INOX: Leading cinema chain PVR INOX Ltd on Saturday announced a new initiative "PVR INOX Passport", a first-of-its-kind movie subscription pass aimed at "irrigating the film industry" and motivating consumers to frequently visit theatres. As per the monthly subscription pass, which will be available from October 16, cinemagoers will be able to watch up to 10 movies per month for just Rs 699. The offer will be applicable from Monday to Thursday and excludes premium offerings like IMAX, Gold, LUXE and Director's Cut.

Bajaj Electricals: The company has received an order worth Rs 564.2 crore from Power Grid Corp. for new transmission lines in Andhra Pradesh.

Delta Corp has received another notice from the GST authorities to pay up an additional Rs 6,385 crore as the tax shortfall due from its subsidiary company Deltatech Gaming. "The GST notice advises Deltatech Gaming Limited to pay the alleged tax shortfall along with interest and penalty, failing which a show cause notice will be issued to the company under Section 74(1) of the CGST Act, 2017," the company said in a filing with the stock exchange. Oil-linked stocks such as upstream companies, OMCs, paint, and tyre stocks are expected to trade actively as crude oil prices fell on Monday, partly reversing Friday's rally as investors wait to see if the Israel-Hamas conflict draws in other countries, which could drive up prices and deal a fresh blow to the global economy. Both benchmarks rose nearly 6 per cent on Friday, posting their highest daily percentage gains since April, as investors priced in the possibility of a wider Middle East conflict.

NBCC: The company has received the work order for the renovation or refurbishment of an office building located in the Visakhapatnam Port Authority. The order size is Rs 80 crore.

Dalmia Bharat: The company's Q2 results were below expectations but operational performance and margins were much better, notes Zee Business Research. Its margin came in at 18.7 per cent against 12.8 per cent in the year-ago period. Net profit was up 2.7 times to Rs 123 crore and revenues were up 6 per cent YoY. 

Texmaco Rail: The company's margin grew 9.5 per cent against 8.9 per cent in the year-ago period. Revenues were up 66 per cent to Rs 805 crore, and profit was up 60 per cent to Rs 25 crore.

TCS: It said that it has sacked sixteen employees and six firms were disbarred by the company after the IT major's investigation into the bribes-for-jobs scandal, the company said in an exchange filing on October 15.
