Share Market Today LIVE: Domestic equity benchmarks Nifty 50 and Sensex suffered sharp losses on Friday, April 12, tracking negative moves across global markets following a worse-than-expected US inflation reading that dashed nascent hopes of an earlier-than-anticipated cut in benchmark interest rates. Financial services stocks were the worst hit, with the Nifty Bank shedding more than 400 points. 

Investors awaited the Q4 financial results of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country's largest IT services exporter, due post-market hours for domestic cues.

    M&M: Mahindra & Mahindra received an order from the Punjab Pollution Control Board in which observations were raised for non-compliance with certain provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (‘Act’) including the Consent to Operate granted under the said Act. The company is directed to submit a Bank Guarantee (‘BG’) amounting to Rs 50 lakh within seven days of receipt of the order.

    Varun Beverages: Pepsico bottler Varun Beverages announced to buy stakes in Huoban Energy 11 and Aspirative Creative Ventures. The company will invest up to 14 per cent stakes each in Capital of Huoban Energy 11 Private Limited and Aspirative Creative Ventures. Read more 

  • TCS Q4 FY24 Results | What you can expect in Tata group IT behemoth's March quarter earnings report today

    Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country's largest IT services exporter, is all set to report its financial results for the January-March period, the fourth and final quarter of the financial year 2023-24, on Friday, April 12, kicking off a new results season for India Inc. In mere hours from now, the Mumbai-headquartered Tata group IT giant will become the first Nifty50 company to report its earnings report for the quarter as well as the year ended March 31, 2024. 

    According to Zee Business research, the IT major is expected to clock a more than 10 per cent sequential (quarter-on-quarter) rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 12,200 crore for the March quarter with about two per cent growth in revenue in the rupee as well as dollar terms. The analysts expect the Tata group IT firm’s margin to remain unchanged sequentially, at 25 per cent. Read more
