  • Macrotech Developers Q4 sales bookings up 40% to Rs 4,230 crore; FY24 pre-sales rise 20%

    Realty firm Macrotech Developers Ltd on Friday reported a 40 per cent annual growth in its sales bookings to Rs 4,230 crore in the fourth quarter of last fiscal driven by strong housing demand.
    Its sales bookings stood at Rs 3,030 crore in the year-ago period.

    Further, HDFC Bank on Thursday sold a 3.03 per cent stake in Indraprastha Medical Corporation Ltd. for Rs 55.46 crore through the secondary market route on the NSE. In the opening deals, the stock is trading 0.53 per cent higher at Rs 1,536 on the BSE.

    HDFC Bank Q4 update: Loan book crosses Rs 25 lakh crore

    HDFC Bank's loan book crossed Rs 25 lakh crore in the fourth quarter ended March 2024. The bank's gross advances aggregated to Rs 25.08 lakh crore as of March 31, 2024, a growth of 55.4 per cent over Rs 16.14 lakh crore as of March 31, 2023.

    The figures for the period ended March 31, 2024, include the operations of erstwhile HDFC Ltd, which amalgamated with HDFC Bank on July 1, 2023, and hence are not comparable with those of the corresponding period of the previous year, it said.

    HDFC Bank share price target: How do global brokerages view HDFC Bank down the line? Citi sees 38 per cent upside on HDFC Bank

    Citi has maintained a buy call on HDFC Bank with a target price of Rs 2,050, the highest among its peers. The revised target implies a 38 per cent upside.

    Brokerage firm Jefferies has also maintained its 'buy' rating on the stock with a target of Rs 1,800.

    HSBC has also continued with a buy call with a target of Rs 1,750. According to the brokerage deposit performance (+Rs1.66tn deposits q-o-q) in 4Q, it is above estimates of +Rs1.2-1.3tn. Valuation at 13x FY26e EPS is still very attractive, as per HSBC. Read more

  • Market Outlook | Domestic markets could open lower, says Deepak Jasani

    "Indian markets could open lower, in line with lower Asian markets today and negative US markets on April 4," Deepak Jasani, Head of Retail Research, HDFC Securities said. 

    "Nifty made a new high at 22619 but closed below the earlier high of 22529. It wants to break into new territory but keeps running into selling pressure at higher levels. Nifty could now remain in the 22453-22619 band for the near term," he adds.

    Bandhan Bank: The company said in its Q4 business update that its total deposits grew 25.1 per cent year-on-year (YoY).

    HDFC Bank: After the bank's Q4 business update yesterday and stake sale in Indraprastha Medical Corporation, the private lender's shares will see traction. The bank's ADR, or American Depository Receipt, ended higher by 5.1 per cent.

    Bajaj Finance: The company posted a decent Q4 business update for the FY ending 2024, with deposits and AUM logging a growth of 35 per cent and 34 per cent, respectively.

    IndusInd Bank: The company posted good growth in the last quarter of FY24; nevertheless, CASA trended lower during the review period. Advances at the private lender also logged an 18 per cent increase, while deposits grew by 14 per cent during the same period.

    Aavas Financiers: The housing finance company posted a good Q4 business update, with disbursement logging a healthy 20 per cent growth. However, Smallcap World Fund sold 10.06 lakh (1.27 per cent) shares at an average price of Rs 1,420.19 per share.

    Nestle India: The National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC) dismissed a complaint filed in the year 2015 in favour of the company. The complaint was filed by the Union of India, Department of Consumer Affairs, on the allegations that by selling Maggi noodles in the past, the company had indulged in unfair trade practices.   • RBI MPC Meeting Today | Can you expect Shaktikanta Das to announce a repo rate cut at 10 am today?

    RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das is scheduled to announce the outcome of the April 3-5 review by the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) at 10 am today, April 5. This is the first MPC meeting of the financial year 2024-25 (FY25). In the last bi-monthly review, the RBI chief-led MPC voted 5:1 to keep the repo rate—or the key interest rate at which the central bank lends short-term funds to commercial banks—unchanged at 6.5 per cent while maintaining the "withdrawal of accommodation" policy stance, in line with economists' expectations. This time around too, most economists expect no change in the benchmark interest rate.
