Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: Sensex ends 118 pts higher, Nifty reclaims 18,500 led by auto, FMCG stocks

Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: The benchmark indices traded in a narrow range on Friday, June 2, and ended with around 0.20 per cent gains. At close, the S&P BSE Sensex stood at 62,547.11, up 119 points, or 0.19 per cent while the NSE's Nifty settled 46 points, or 0.25 per cent higher at 18,534.10.

    "The rupee continued to appreciate against the US dollar after GDP data released on the domestic front came in better than estimates. The dollar weakened, and that too supported the other crosses. Yesterday, the dollar was resilient after private payrolls came in above estimates. Today, the focus will be on the non-farm payrolls number that will be released from the US. We expect the USD/INR (spot) to trade sideways and quote in the range of 82.05 and 82.50."
