Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: Domestic equity benchmarks Nifty 50 and Sensex on Tuesday, August 22, ended flat amid concerns about Chinas economy and the US Feds interest rate hike. Share Market HIGHLIGHTS: Domestic equity benchmarks Nifty 50 and Sensex on Tuesday, August 22, ended flat amid concerns about China's economy and the US Fed's interest rate hike. The market participants will keep an eye on the US manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index, or PMI, which will be released on Wednesday. 

Back home, both indices closed 0.01 per cent higher. The S&P BSE Sensex was flat by 3.94 points at 65,220.03, and the NSE Nifty was flat by 2.85 points at 19,396.45. In the broader market, the Nifty Mid Cap 100 and Small Cap 100 indices ended on a strong note.

  • Share Market Today LIVE | Aurobindo Pharma shares slip 3% as company's US arm recalls different drugs due to manufacturing lapses

    Shares of Aurobindo Pharma slip as much as 3.02 per cent to hit a low of Rs 828.05 apiece on the BSE on Tuesday (August 22). The stock comes under pressure after reports said that Aurobindo Pharma, along with Alembic Pharmaceuticals, is recalling different products in the US market due to manufacturing lapses. As per the US Food and Drug Administration's (USFDA) latest enforcement report, the US-based subsidiary of Alembic Pharmaceuticals is recalling 82,400 bottles of Tobramycin Ophthalmic Solution in the American market. Besides, the US-based arm of Aurobindo Pharma is also recalling 48 bottles of Rufinamide Tablets, (200 mg, packaged in a 120-count bottle), due to cGMP (current good manufacturing practise) deviations, the USFDA said.   • Share Market Today LIVE | Jio Financial Services shares continue to slide; stock hits 5% lower circuit again

    The newly-listed Jio Financial Services (JFS), the demerged financial services unit of Reliance Industries (RIL), slips again in Tuesday's session. The stock is locked in the 5 per cent lower circuit at Rs 236.45 on the NSE in the opening deals. The scrip made a listless debut on the bourses on Monday (August 21), as it listed at Rs 262 on the NSE and Rs 265 on the BSE against its discovered price of Rs 261.85. The domestic stock exchanges, BSE and NSE, held a one-hour special 'pre-open' session on July 20 for RIL to discover the price of its demerged entity.

    JFS' share price was calculated as the difference between Reliance's last close and the stock's settling price at the end of the special session. The price beat all the analysts' estimates, as they had estimated the share price of the demerged entity between Rs 160 and Rs 190 per share. Read more

    The Tata Group company got a shot in the arm on Monday when the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) ordered the Centre not to take coercive steps against it in relation to a licence fee demand of Rs 991.5 crore. Last week, the tribunal directed the Department of Telecommunications not to take any coercive action against Tata Communications, which had challenged the licence fee demand.

    Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) on Monday said that it would supply 9 megawatts of green energy to the Tata Motors plant in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, as part of the agreement. TPREL, a subsidiary of Tata Power Company Ltd, said in its BSE filing on Monday that it had signed a power purchase agreement with Tata Motors Limited Pantnagar Plant in Uttarakhand.

    Jet Airways

    The committee of creditors of Jet Airways on Monday give the thumbs up to an extension to the payment deadline to the Jalan Kalrock Consortium till September 30. The JKC sought a one-month extension for the payment. The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, on the other hand, wanted the consortium to satisfy how the bank guarantee of Rs 150 crore can be used as security.

    Aurobindo Pharma

    Alembic Pharmaceuticals and Aurobindo Pharma are recalling different products in the US market due to manufacturing lapses, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). As per the US health regulator's latest Enforcement Report, the US-based subsidiary of Alembic Pharmaceuticals is recalling 82,400 bottles of Tobramycin Ophthalmic Solution in the American market.
