    The Financial Intelligence Unit-India, under the Finance Ministry's Department of Revenue, has imposed a penalty of Rs 5.49 crore on Paytm Payments Bank, citing violations of obligations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

    A Paytm Payments Bank spokesperson has said: "The penalty pertains to issues within a business segment that was discontinued two years ago. Following that period, we have enhanced our monitoring systems and reporting mechanisms to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)."

    The Sensex gains 114.9 points, or 0.2 per cent, to end at 73,860.3 and the Nifty50 settles at 22,395, up 56.3 points, or 0.3 per cent, from its previous close. 

    In intraday trade so far, while the Sensex has moved within a 204-point range, between 73,778.1 and a record high of 73,982.1, the Nifty50 gyrated between 22,367 and 22,420.3.
