The banking index finishes the day barely in the green at 47,297.5, having added as many as 147 points (0.3 per cent) to touch 47,433.9 during the two-part session to trade within about 1,200 points of an all-time high clocked in late December.

Share Market Special Saturday Trading Session LIVE: Paytm shares decline after FIU-India imposes fine on Paytm Payments Bank
Paytm parent One97 Communications' shares are down 1.6 per cent at the end of the first session, at Rs 418.5 apiece on BSE, after dropping to as low as Rs 415.6 earlier in the day.
The Financial Intelligence Unit-India, under the Finance Ministry's Department of Revenue, has imposed a penalty of Rs 5.49 crore on Paytm Payments Bank, citing violations of obligations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
A Paytm Payments Bank spokesperson has said: "The penalty pertains to issues within a business segment that was discontinued two years ago. Following that period, we have enhanced our monitoring systems and reporting mechanisms to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)."

The Sensex gains 114.9 points, or 0.2 per cent, to end at 73,860.3 and the Nifty50 settles at 22,395, up 56.3 points, or 0.3 per cent, from its previous close.
In intraday trade so far, while the Sensex has moved within a 204-point range, between 73,778.1 and a record high of 73,982.1, the Nifty50 gyrated between 22,367 and 22,420.3.

Cipla shares are up 0.9 per cent at Rs 1,483.2 apiece on BSE, having gained as much as 1.5 per cent to touch Rs 1,492 in intraday trade to trade within Re 1 of an all-time high scaled last month.

The US drug regulator has completed inspections at a facility of the company's Chinese subsidiary, Cipla Jiangsu, with zero observations.
In a separate development, Kemwell Biopharma UK and MNI Ventures have received confirmation from the US Secretary of State to form a JV with Cipla (EU), a subsidiary of the Indian pharma firm.

Zee Business Managing Editor Anil Singhvi sees support for the headline Nifty50 index emerging at 22,250-22,300 levels and a buy zone at 22,125-22,225 levels on Saturday, March 2, the day stock exchanges BSE and NSE will conduct a special, two-hour-long trading session to test the disaster recovery site. For the Nifty Bank, he expects support to come in at 47,025-47,125 followed by stronger support at 46,725-46,900 levels.
He expects a "blue-sky zone" for the 50-scrip index above 22,400.
For the banking index, he sees a higher zone emerging at 47,500-47,650 levels and a profit-booking zone at 47,725-47,875 levels.
