Indian oil marketing companies have released petrol and diesel prices on Saturday, May 29. As per Indian oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), petrol and diesel prices have been hiked by 26 paise per litre and 28 paise per litre, respectively. The rates were earlier revised two days ago on May 27. With this, petrol price also breached Rs 100-mark in Mumbai on Saturday.

After the revised rate, Petrol will cost Rs 93.94 per litre and diesel Rs 84.89 per litre in Delhi. In Mumbai, petrol price has become Rs 100.19 and diesel will cost Rs 92.17 per litre.  

In Chennai, petrol was retailing at Rs 95.51 per litre and diesel for Rs 89.65 a litre.  

In Kolkata, consumers will have to shell out Rs 93.97 a litre for petrol and Rs 87.74 a litre for diesel.  

Fuel prices vary from state to state and also depend on how they are taxed in different states. For example, Rajasthan levies the highest value-added tax (VAT) and so prices are comparatively higher in the state. Rajasthan is followed by Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
