Petrol and diesel prices were once again increased on Thursday, June 24. Domestic Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) increased the prices of the fuels by 26 paise and 7 paise after keeping the rates unchanged on Wednesday. Petrol got costlier by 26 paise and diesel by 7 paise in four metro cities, said Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) website. The continuous hike in petrol and diesel prices is due to increasing in international crude price, which is being sold at $75 per barrel.

Meanwhile, with the revision in fuel rates, petrol and diesel prices were being retailed at Rs 97.76 per litre and Rs 88.30 per litre. 

Mumbai: Petrol: Rs 103.89 per litre | Diesel: Rs 95.79 per litre 

Kolkata: Petrol: Rs 97.63 per litre | Diesel: Rs 91.15 per litre 

Chennai: Petrol: Rs 98.88 per litre | Diesel: Rs 92.89 per litre 

This has been 13th hike this month so far. Petrol has alredy breached psychological mark of Rs 100 in nine states and union territories – Maharashtra , Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh,  Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha and Ladakh. 

Bihar and Kerala are next in the line to join these states and UTs. In Bihar's Patna petrol is being sold at Rs petrol at ₹99.80 per litre, while in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram, the same costs ₹99.74 per litre.
