Petrol and diesel prices have been released for Monday, June 21, and Domestic Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) has decided to keep the rates unchanged, showed Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) website. Earlier, the OMCs have increased petrol and diesel prices on Sunday, overall 27th hike since May 4.

On Sunday, petrol and diesel prices were hiked by 28 paise and 29 paise respectively. This has also taken petrol and diesel prices to a record high in the national capital 

Petro, Diesel Prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai on June 21 

Domestic Oil Marketing companies release Petrol and diesel prices every day in the morning at 6 am. Since the prices remained unchanged on Monday, the rates in these metros remained same are yesterday. Here are the rates: 

Delhi: Petrol: Rs 97.22 per litre | Diesel: Rs 87.97 

Mumbai: Petrol: Rs 103.36 per litre |   Diesel: Rs 87.97 

Chennai: Petrol: Rs 98.40 per litre | Diesel: 92.58 

Kolkata: Petrol: Rs 97.12 per litre |Diesel: Rs 90.82 

It is to be noted that fuel prices vary from state to state, depending on local taxes such as VAT and the average price of benchmark fuel in the international market in the preceding 15 days and foreign exchange rates day. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, in order, levy the highest value-added tax (VAT) on petrol. Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan had the costliest petrol and diesel in the country at Rs 108.37 a litre and diesel at Rs 101.12.
