Petrol, diesel prices have shattered all records. Petrol has breached Rs 100-mark in seven states and Union Territories—Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Ladakh and Karnataka. Amid soaring oil prices, a crucial Parliamentary Committee meeting will be held at 11am today, June 17, said a government statement.

The meeting will see officials of Petroleum Ministry and representatives of domestic Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) brainstorming on several factors related to Petroleum Products and their prices. The meeting will be headed by Ramesh Bidhuri as chairperson.  

As per the information shared on Lok Sabha portal, the agendas of the meeting are  

To take oral evidence of representatives of the Ministry of P&NG/OMCs on the subject ‘Pricing, Marketing and Supply of Petroleum Products including Natural Gas’ and 

(ii) To take oral evidence of representatives of the Ministry of P&NG/GAIL on the subject ‘Pricing, Marketing and Supply of Petroleum Products including Natural Gas’. 

Meanwhile, after increasing petrol and diesel prices on Wednesday, June 16, the oil marketing companies (OMCs) did not revise the fuel rates on Thursday, showed Indian Oil Corporation Limited website.  

As the rates were not revised, fuel rates remained as on June 16.  

DELHI – Petrol price was at Rs 96.66 while Diesel Price was at Rs 87.41. 

MUMBAI - Petrol price was at Rs 102.82 while the Diesel Price was at Rs 94.84.    

KOLKATA - Petrol price was at Rs 96.58 while the Diesel Price was at Rs 90.25.   

CHENNAI – Petrol price was at Rs 97.91 while the Diesel Price was at Rs 92.04.
