Gold price today: Gold price on Friday edged higher on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on account of the ease in the US dollar against the Rupee. Gold April Futures opened higher, quoting Rs 55,360 per 10 grams. Silver May Futures, however, trader lower at Rs 61,479 per kg, down by Rs 505 or 0.81 per cent.

Vandana Bharti, AVP-Commodity research, SMC Global Securities, said that due to the weakening of the Dollar index, there is a low-level buying opportunity in both gold and silver.

In the international market, Gold quoted at $1,828.60 per ounce while Silver was down by 0.90 per cent at $19.983 per ounce.

Praveen Singh, AVP, fundamental currencies and commodities analyst at Sharekhan by BNP Paribas, said that gold outlook remains bearish unless and until key US macroeconomic data start reflecting a weak US economy. Support is at $1800/$1785 while resistance is at $1830/$1850.

Meanwhile, the rupee was trading at 82.04 against the US dollar. The international oil benchmark Brent crude futures stood at $81.15 per barrel down by 0.55 per cent.
