Gold Price Today: Gold experienced a little respite on Wednesday after hitting a low of almost seven months in the previous session. The yellow metal edged up as the dollar took a breather following a ferocious push to 20-year highs.

At 10.50 am, gold contracts were trading higher by 0.20 percent at Rs 51,404 for 10 grams on the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) while silver was trading lower by 0.08% percent to Rs 56,822 a kilogram.

Spot gold rose 0.3% to $1,770.27 per ounce by 0330 GMT, whereas Spot silver dipped 0.1% to $19.27 per ounce. U.S. gold futures also firmed 0.3% to $1,769.10.

It`s a very modest recovery following a significant fall, and after dropping through support around $1,790-$1,800, gold could now head lower in the medium term, said Michael McCarthy, chief strategy officer at Tiger Brokers, Australia.

Gold lost as much as 2.6% in the previous session to $1,762.81, its lowest since mid-December.
