Gold price today: Gold on Monday, January 2, traded above Rs 55,000-mark on Multi Commodity Exchange. At 2 PM, February Gold Futures quoted at Rs 55,110 per 10 grams, flat by Rs 93 or 0.17 per cent. Silver on the other hand, was near the Rs 70,000 per kg on the MCX .

Meanwhile, the rupee was trading at 82.59 against the US dollar. The international oil benchmark Brent crude futures was up by 3.04 per cent to USD 86 per barrel.
