Gold rate today: Gold crossed the 55,000-mark on Friday, December 30. On MCX, as of 1:11 pm, December Gold futures quoted at Rs 55,011 per 10 grams, flat by Rs 40 or 0.07 per cent.

On the international market, Gold was quoting at USD 1,816.30 per ounce while Silver was down by 0.95 per cent at USD 24.017 per ounce.

Meanwhile, the rupee was trading at 82.79 against the US dollar. The international oil benchmark Brent crude futures was up by 0.36 per cent to USD 83.76 per barrel.
