Restrictions will continue on the export of wheat and sugar, Department of Food & Public Distribution Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey has said. He said that domestic markets are available for selling the wheat stock lying at ports.

The secretary said that there is no proposal to review the existing regulations. 

The price of edible oil has come down by 8-10 per cent. Among other things, prices of wheat flour have also come down. 

The price of sugar have remained stable. 

The Food & Public Distribution Secretary said that wheat and flour prices have decreased. The prices in India are down significantly in comparison to the global prices. 

Pandey also assured that the government's target of 20 per cent ethanol blending will be achieved in time. 

The Ministry of Petroleum have recently revised the prices. 

- 71 projects have been approved and production will begin by the end of the year.

The government is increasing nutrition of rice at a cost lower than a toffee.   

- 90 lakh MT Fortified rice has been produced till now
- PDS in phase, fortified rice will be made available in mid day meals as well. 
- In phase 2, the government intends to distribute it in 291 
- A pilot project on fortified rice was started 3 years ago 
-  It was implemented in 11 states and went on for three years
- This year 175 MT fortified rice was produced

- In the thirdphase, there is a target of producing 350 MT fortified rice by 2024.
- Cost of fortification is 71 paise
