The stock market closed on the rise, Sensex rose 221 points and Nifty 57 points

At the end of trading today the market closed on the edge. Sensex climbed 221 points to reach a new closing level of 52,773. On the other hand, Nifty closed at a new high of 15,869, up by 57 points.
