Sensex settles at 40,240; Nifty ends at 11,857

Domestic Stocks today closed with losses of more than 0.6 per cent amid negative cues from global markets. Sensex at Bombay stock exchange settled 248 points down at 40,240 and Nifty also slipped 81 points to close at 11,857.
