Indian benchmarks were trading in the red with major losses in the noon deals of Friday, December 17, 2021. At 1:01 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading 653.99 points, or 1.13%, lower at 57,247.15. The NSE Nifty was 196 points, or 1.14%, down at 17,052.40. Meanwhile, certain stocks were in action in either direction based on reports linked to them. Here is a list of some of such stocks:

IT Stocks: On a move, stocks like Infosys - up 2.87%; Mphasis - up 1.71%; Wipro - up 1.14%; L&T Infotech - up 2.10% and Persistent Systems - up 4.13%; were trading with gains. The IT stocks were buzzing today as global technology firm Accenture has reported good results for Q1FY22 and raised its business outlook. Accenture that follows the September-August financial year has reported a 27% growth in revenue to $15 billion and a 29% growth in operating income to $2.43 billion, with an operating margin of 16.3%, an expansion of 20 basis points. It has raised its business outlook for fiscal 2022 and expects full-year revenue growth of 19% to 22% and expects 10-30 bps expansion in the margin.

Auto Stocks: Trading at a loss. Stocks like Tata Motors - down 3.74%; TVS Motor - down 3.16%; M&M - down 2.29%; Ashok Leyland - down 2.10%; Maruti - down 2.20%; Hero MotoCorp - down 1.31% and Bajaj Auto - down 1.18% were trading at a loss. The auto stocks are losing today as the Delhi government has decided to deregister the diesel vehicles that have completed 10 years on January 10, 2021. However, no objection certificate (NOC) would be issued for these vehicles so that they can be re-registered in other places.

Oil & Gas Stocks: Trading at a loss. Stocks like Reliance - down 2.70%; ONGC - down 3.06%; IOC - down 2.59%; Hindustan Petroleum - down 2%; Gujarat Gas - down 1.95%; Oil India - down 2.17%; and Petronet - down 2.16% were trading at a loss.

Listing + IPO Update: RateGain Travel Listing + Supriya Lifescience IPO + HP Adhesives IPO + Data Patterns IPO

RateGain Travel Listing: Shares of RateGain Travel Technologies were listed on the stock exchanges today at a discount to IPO price amid weak market sentiment. Stocks opened for trade at Rs 364.8 per share, down Rs 60 or 14% from the IPO price of 425 per share. The issue price for the Rs 1,336 crore IPO was Rs 425 per equity share. The issue closed with 17.41 times subscription. The Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) portion was subscribed 8.42 times, while the Non-Institutional Investors (NII) and Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) portions were subscribed 42.04 times and 8.08 times respectively. The portion reserved for employees was subscribed 1.37 times. The IPO comprised of a fresh issue of equity shares aggregating up to Rs 375 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) of up to 2.26 crore equity shares worth Rs 961 crore by promoters and existing shareholders. The retail investors can place a bid for a lot of 35 Equity Shares and in multiples thereof.

Supriya Lifescience IPO: The initial public offering (IPO) of Supriya Lifescience Limited, a manufacturer and supplier of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), was subscribed 3.47 times by 12:50 pm on Friday, the second day of bidding. The Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) and Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) portions were subscribed 0.99 times and 17.58 times, respectively. The three-day issue will close on Monday, December 20, 2021. The offer price has been fixed at Rs 265-274 per equity share. The company has plans to raise up to Rs 700 crore through this public offer. The issue comprises a fresh issue of up to Rs 200 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to Rs 500 crore. Investors can bid for a minimum of 54 equity shares and in multiples of 54 shares thereof. Retail investors can invest a minimum of Rs 14,796 for one lot, and their maximum investment is Rs 1,92,348 for 13 lots.

HP Adhesives IPO: The initial public offering (IPO) of HP Adhesives Limited, an adhesive and sealants company, was subscribed 12.65 times by 12:53 pm on Friday, the third and last day for bidding. The Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) portion was subscribed 100%, while the Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) and Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) portions were subscribed 6.74 times and 56.46 times, respectively. The three-day issue will close today, i.e., on Friday, December 17, 2021. The company has fixed a price of Rs 262-274 per equity share. The company has plans to raise up to Rs 125.9 crore from the primary market. The issue comprises a fresh issue of 41,40,000 equity shares worth Rs 113.44 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 4,57,200 equity shares worth Rs 12.5 crore. A retail investor can place a bid for a minimum of 50 equity shares and in multiples thereof.

Department of Fertilizers (DOF), Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India has accorded administrative approval for setting up of a new 1200 MTPD DAP / NPK plant at RCF's Thal Unit, Raigad District, Maharashtra at an estimated project cost of Rs 914.58 Crore and the project is expected to be completed in 36 months. The decision regarding the applicability of the Surplus Ammonia policy is awaited from DOF. 

HAL: Down 1.31%. Secures an order for manufacturing, assembly, integration, testing and supply of High-Speed Expendable Aerial Target System known as ABHYAS from ADE, DRDO.

Besides, Sameer Ghelaut in a press release says, I have sold 11.9% in the company with a view to make the company a fully professionally managed and run company. With this sale, I and my promoter companies now own 9.8% of the company. I intend to hold these shares and participate in the future growth story of the company. He added, I will be resigning from the board of the company by end of the current fiscal ending March 31, 2022, and will be completing the process of de-promotorization of the company with requisite approvals.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders: Down 1.28%. The Board of Directors of the Company is scheduled to meet on December 28, 2021, to consider the declaration of Interim Dividend for the financial year 2021-22. Besides, the company has fixed January 7, 2022, as the Record Date for reckoning eligibility of shareholders for the purpose of payment of Interim Dividend.

Tarsons Products: Down 1%. The company has provided its half-yearly update for H1FY22 and said the overall demand environment for the Company’s products remained strong in H1FY22 despite localised lockdowns in various parts of the country during the period. In H1FY22, Company’s revenues grew by around 40% on a YoY basis on the back of strong growth in both domestic and export business. EBIDTA margins for H1FY22 stood at around 52%. This is compared to EBITDA margins of 46.5% for the year ended March 2021.

Union Bank: Down 2.17%. LIC has increased its stakes in the public sector lender from 3.157% to 5.167% between March 2020 and December 2021.
