The Indian market for the second straight session witnessed massive buying as the monetary policy committee of the Reserve Bank of India kept benchmark interest rates unchanged. Sensex spurted over 1000 points, while Nifty50 reclaimed 17450-level, led by banking and financial stocks.

Sectorally, massive buying was visible in all indices such as Auto, Bank, Financial, IT, FMCG, Metal, Pharma and Media, and Realty.

Chandan Taparia Vice President | Analyst-Derivatives Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited said, “Nifty index opened gap up and moved in the positive territory throughout the session. Buying interest aided the bulls and the index headed towards 17500 zones during the day.”

“It formed a Bullish Marubozu sort of candle on daily scale and closed with gains of around 300 points. Now it has to continue to hold above 17350 for an up move towards 17600 and 17777 zones whereas on the downside, support has shifted higher to 17250 and 17100 zones.”

Key support & resistance levels for Nifty50:

The Nifty50 closed 1.71 per cent higher at 17,470. Key Pivot points (Fibonacci) support for the index is placed at 17353, 17312, 17245, and while resistance is placed at 17488, 17529, and 17596.

Key support & resistance levels for Nifty Bank:

The NiftyBank closed 1.82 per cent higher at 37,285. Key Pivot points (Fibonacci) support for the index is placed at 37008, 36895, 36711 while resistance is placed at 37374, 37487, and 37671.

Gross Open Interest:

Open Interest means the number of contracts open or outstanding in futures trading in NSE at any one time. One seller and one buyer together create one contract.

Here the gross values of Open Interest Positions taken by the four participants namely Client are Clients are the retail individual investors who invest in the derivatives instruments, DIIs are domestic individual investors, FIIs are foreign institutional investors and Pro are the proprietors and brokerage firms who trade on their own behalf.

Options Data:

On Option front, Maximum Call OI is at 18000 then 17500 strike while Maximum Put OI is at 17000 then 16000 strike. Call writing is seen at 17900 then 17600 strike while Put writing is seen at 17200 then 17300 strike.

“Option data suggests a wider trading range in between 17000 to 17750 zones,” Chandan Taparia, Vice President | Analyst-Derivatives at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited, said.

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) remained net sellers for Rs 579.27 crore in the Indian markets while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) were net buyers to the tune of Rs 1735.5 crore, provisional data showed on the NSE.

National Highw Infra Trust: ICICI Bank Ltd. (Trading) sold 1,12,00,000 equity shares in the company at the weighted average price Rs 101.64 per share on the NSE, the bulk deals data showed.

MT Educare Ltd: Axis Bank Limited sold 6,03,402 equity shares in the company at the weighted average price Rs 7.61 per share on the NSE, the bulk deals data showed.

Debock Sale Marketing Ltd: Vishal Singh bought 60,000 equity shares in the company at the weighted average price Rs 91.4 per share on the NSE, the bulk deals data showed.

One Point One Sol: Nexpact Limited bought 2,94,444 equity shares in the company at the weighted average price Rs 72 per share on the NSE, the bulk deals data showed.

Stocks under F&O ban on NSE

One stock: Indiabulls Housing Finance placed under the F&O ban on Thursday. Securities in the ban period under the F&O segment include companies in which the security has crossed 95 percent of the market-wide position limit.
