Amid stretched valuations in the domestic market and tepid gains in Asian markets, the domestic equity markets were trading in a red on Tuesday’s noon deals. At 12.54 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 108.19 points or 0.19 per cent at 5,474.39, while Nifty 50 was trading with a loss of 43.55 points or 0.26 per cent at 16,519.50. Sugar Stocks: Moving Up. Sugar stocks like Balrampur Chini – up 2.78%, Dwarikesh Sugar – up 4.31%, Rana Sugars – 4.99%, Avadh Sugar – up 1.90%, Triveni Engineering – up 2% were trading with gains. Raw sugar price has reached to 4.5 years high due to falling in supply. Supply is impacted due to reduced production in Brazil. Besides, the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) has written to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to immediately increase the Minimum Sale Price (MSP) of sugar from the current Rs 31 per kg to at least Rs 34-35 per kg to help it clear the pending sugarcane dues ahead of the new crushing season that will start from October 2021.

Indiabulls Real Estate: Down 1.24%. The company has filed the requisite joint application with the jurisdictional bench of NCLT, for its approval to the Scheme of Merger. Earlier, the company received Competition Commission of India’s (CCI’s) approval for the merger of NAM Estates Private Limited (“NAM Estates”) and Embassy One Commercial Property Developments Private Limited (Embassy One”), both Embassy group entities with Indiabulls Real Estate Limited. 

Aarti Industries: Up 0.65%. The Board of Directors of the company is scheduled to meet on August 19, 2021, to consider and approve the Scheme of Arrangement ('Demerger') and any other matter incidental thereto.

Lupin: Up 0.32%. Global pharma major Lupin Limited has received tentative approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) Brivaracetam Tablets, 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, and 100 mg, to market a generic equivalent of Briviact® Tablets, 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, and 100 mg, of UCB Inc. This product will be manufactured at Lupin’s Nagpur facility in India. Brivaracetam Tablets are indicated for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in patients four years of age and older. Brivaracetam Tablets (RLD: Briviact® Tablets) had estimated annual sales of USD 311 million in the U.S. (IQVIA MAT June 2021). Besides, Lupin, reportedly, has plans to enter the Chinese market. The company is looking for a manufacturing partner in the Chinese market as it has plans to launch certain respiratory products in the country. 

Delta Corp: Up 2.70%. The Government of Sikkim has allowed the reopening of the Casinos in the State. The Company and/or its subsidiary operating the Casino in the state of Sikkim will resume its operations from August 16, 2021, and will follow all the safety norms laid down by the state in this regard.

Anjani Portland Cement: Down 1.95%. The Board of Directors of the Company has approved the plan to raise up to Rs 350 crore through Qualified Institutional Placement and/or private placement basis.  

Suven Life Sciences: Up 6.63%. Suven Life Sciences has announced Phase 3 Trial of SUVN-502 (Masupirdine), a potent, selective, brain penetrant and orally active, novel chemical entity that has planned initiation of global Phase 3 clinical trial for the treatment of Agitation and aggression in Alzheimer’s type dementias with an expected enrollment of patients from the middle of September 2021. 

Sadbhav Infrastructure (down 4.92%)/Adani Enterprises (down 0.49%): Sadbhav Infrastructure Project Limited (SIPL) and Adani Road Transport Limited (ARTL) enter into Share Purchase Agreement for the sale of the equity shares of Maharashtra Border Check Post Network Limited (SPV). As per the agreement, 49% shares will be acquired initially by Adani Road Transport along with an option to purchase additional stake (remaining 51% shares), in one or more tranches, subject to inter alia the satisfaction of the relevant conditions precedent and receipt of requisite regulatory approvals/consents ("the Transaction"). The Transaction has an Enterprise Value of Rs 1,680 crores.

Infosys: Up 1.33%. The company has agreed with TidalScale Inc, a leading software-defined-server technology startup, to invest an additional sum of US$ 0.45 million. To date, the Company had invested US$ 3.0 million in TidalScale. 

HDFC Ltd: Down 0.29%. Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited (HDFC Ltd) has launched ‘Green & Sustainable Deposits’ for retail clients, funds from which will be used to finance sustainable housing credit solutions and services. HDFC Ltd said individuals can earn interest at 6.55 per cent on their deposits, whose period can range from 3-10 years. Also, senior citizens will be eligible for an additional 0.25 per cent per annum on their deposits of up to Rs 2 crore.

RailTel: Up 0.47%. RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has received Two works of Tunnel Communication of Central Railway from Indian Railways with a completion period of 12 months. The total anticipated project cost of the work is Rs 38.82 Crore (Including GST).

Hero MotoCorp: Down 0.52%. Retail sales of more than one lakh units of motorcycles & scooters on a single day on August 9, 2021, its 10th anniversary.  

Indian Terrain: Down 1.12%. SBI Mutual Fund has sold 1.77 lakh shares (0.43% equity) in the company. With this, it has reduced its stakes in Indian Terrain to 5.3% from 5.74% held in the past.
