The Indian markets closed in red on Monday amid high volatility, dragged by financials and FMCG stocks. Both the benchmark indices – Sensex and Nifty50 – closed almost 1 per cent lower, while the broader markets outperformed benchmarks, as Nifty midcap fell by 81 points to 28,897 at the close.

According to market analyst Narendra Solanki, Head- Equity Research (Fundamental), Anand Rathi Shares & Stock-Brokers said, “Indian markets opened mixed following muted Asian market cues as rising oil prices and continued Ukraine crisis kept investors on edge.”

“FII’s coming back to buying mode is a positive for domestic equities but rise in bulk diesel prices and inflationary pressure is bending the domestic market,” said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services.  

Stocks such as Wipro, L&T, Bank of India, Karnataka Bank, Thermax, PNB, REC, Equitas Holdings, BEL, SBI Life, SBI Cards, among others are likely to be stocks in focus on Tuesday.
