Stocks in News Today, November 9: Stock markets are likely to open in green on Wednesday i.e. November 9 as SGX Nifty - which is traded on the Singapore stock exchange - was up by 51 points, or 0.28 per cent, to trade at 18,398.5. This signals that Dalal Street may be headed for a positive start after it reclaimed the 61,000-mark on Monday, propelled by robust buying in bank, auto and metal stocks amid a firm trend in global equities. The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 234.79 points or 0.39 per cent higher at 61,185.15. The broader NSE Nifty rose by 85.65 points or 0.47 per cent to end at 18,202.80 points.

Meanwhile, Asian markets are showing mixed responses. While Nikkei 225 index was up 0.15 percent, or 41.56 points, at 27,913.67, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell by over 34 points, or 0.14 per cent, in early trade. Wall Street ended higher on Tuesday during voting in midterm elections. The S&P 500 gained 21.31 points, or 0.56 per cent, to end at 3,828.11 points, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 51.680 points, or 0.49 per cent, to 10,616.200. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 333.83 points, or 1.02 per cent, to 33,160.83.

Tata Motors: Automobile major Tata Motors is set to announce second quarter results today. The company is expected a healthy topline growth. Ahead of Q2 results, shares of Tata Motors jumped 2.27 per cent or Rs 9.64 to close Rs 435 on November 7.

Jubilant FoodWorks: Jubilant FoodWorks, operator of fast-food chains Domino's Pizza and Dunkin' Donuts, on Tuesday reported a 9.76 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 131.52 crore for the second quarter ended on September 30, 2022. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 119.82 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL) said in a regulatory filing.

Tech Mahindra: The company has announced a special dividend for its shareholders. The IT major made the announcement while releasing its July-September quarter results for the financial year 2022-23. The record date for this purpose has been set as November 10, 2022.

Coal India: State-owned CIL on Monday reported a 106 per cent jump in its consolidated profit at Rs 6,043.99 crore in the September quarter of FY23 on higher revenue from operations.
The pubic sector enterprise had posted a consolidated profit of Rs 2,932.73 crore in the year-ago period, Coal India Ltd (CIL) said in a filing to BSE.

Paytm: Digital financial services firm One97 Communications, which owns Paytm brand, on Monday reported a widening of consolidated loss to Rs 593.9 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2022. The company had posted a loss of Rs 481 crore in the same period a year ago, Paytm said in its regulatory filing.
