Stocks in News Today, November 10: Stock markets are likely to start in red on Thursday i.e. November 10 as SGX Nifty - an early indicator of sentiment on the NSE Nifty50 - traded over 90 points, 0.50 per cent, lower at 18,103 in the early trade. The benchmark 30-share BSE Sensex and the broader 50-share NSE Nifty50 may start sharply lower amid weak global sentiments. All Asian share markets traded in negative in early trade. While Japan's Nikkei 225 fell 317 points or 1.15 per cent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng was down by 383 points or  2.36 per cent. Similarly, South Korea's Kospi declined by 11.21 points or 0.46 per cent.

Meanwhile, Wall Street ended sharply lower on Wednesday amid midterm elections in the United States. The S&P 500 lost 79.54 points, or 2.08 per cent, to end at 3,748.57 points, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 263.03 points, or 2.48 per cent, to 10,353.18. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 646.89 points, or 1.95 per cent, to 32,513.94.

Tata Motors: Tata Motors on Wednesday reported narrowing of its consolidated net loss to Rs 945 crore for the second quarter ended September, as sales picked up in marquee brand Jaguar Land Rover and across domestic as well as commercial vehicle segments. The auto major had reported a net loss (attributable to shareholders) of Rs 4,442 crore in the July-September period of the last fiscal.

Eicher Motors: The company, known for manufacturing premium Royal Enfield motorcycles, is scheduled to announce it results for the September quarter. Ahead of that, the share of Eicher Motor declined by over 28 points, 0.75 per cent, to end at 3,727.05.

Apollo Hospitals: It is one of the new entrants in the Nifty50 index and is set to announce its second quarter results today. The share of Apollo Hospitals slipped over 5 points, or 0.13 per cent, to trade at Rs 4,358 at the end of the session on Wednesday.

Piramal Enterprises: Piramal Enterprises, the financial services arm of the Piramal group, on Wednesday reported a net loss of Rs 1,536 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year. The quarterly report includes the numbers of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (DHFL) which it acquired in September 2021 through the insolvency process.

Dhanlaxmi Bank: Dhanlaxmi Bank on Wednesday reported a multi-fold rise in net profit at Rs 15.89 crore for the September quarter 2022-23 on lower provisions for bad loans. The bank had clocked a net profit of Rs 3.66 crore in the year-ago period. In the previous June quarter, the bank incurred a net loss of Rs 26.43 crore.
