Stocks in News Today, December 6: Stock markets are likely to have a muted start on Tuesday i.e. December 6 as SGX Nifty - which is traded on the Singapore stock exchange - traded over 62 points, or 0.33 per cent, lower at 18,747 in the early trade. Earlier on Monday, the 30-share BSE benchmark dipped 33.9 points or 0.05 per cent to settle at 62,834.60. During the day, it fell 360.62 points or 0.57 per cent to 62,507.88. The broader NSE Nifty eked out marginal gains and ended 4.95 points or 0.03 per cent higher at 18,701.05.

All major Asian stocks traded in red in early trade with Hong Kong's Hang Seng falling 115 points and China's Shanghai SE Composite Index losing around 7 points. Japan's Nikkei 225 was up by over 20 points. Similarly, The S&P 500 lost 72.86 points, or 1.79 per cent, to end at 3,998.84 points, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 221.56 points, or 1.93 per cent, to 11,239.94. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 482.78 points, or 1.40 per cent, to 33,947.10.

Life Insurance Corporation: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the country's largest insurer, has increased its stake in HDFC Ltd to over 5 per cent following the acquisition of shares from the open market. LIC purchased 1.2 lakh shares from the open market hiking its stake in the company to 5.003 per cent, mortgage lender HDFC Ltd said in a regulatory filing on Monday.

Tata Motors: Tata Motors is looking to increase passenger vehicle prices from next month in order to make its model range compliant with stricter emission norms which kick in from April 1 next year, according to a top company official. Tata Motors Managing Director - Passenger Vehicle and Electric Vehicles Shailesh Chandra told a news agency that the price revision would also offset the impact of commodity prices, which have remained high for the most part of the year.

Bajaj Consumer: Board of directors of Bajaj Consumer Care will consider on share buyback. The company said its board of directors will consider the proposal on December 9.

TVS Motor: A promoter entity of TVS Motor Company on Monday offloaded 25.69 lakh shares of the company for Rs 262 crore through an open market transaction. According to the bulk deal data available with the BSE, Srinivasan Trust sold 25,69,726 shares, amounting to 0.54 per cent stake in the company.

DreamFolks Services: The largest airport service aggregator has signed a deal with Vidsur Gold to offer customers access to premium gold courses across India and Asia Pacific. 

Bikaji Foods, PTC India: Bikaji Foods International and PTC India will announce their quarterly results.
