Stocks in News Today, December 5: Stocks markets are likely to open in green on Monday i.e. December 5 as SGX Nifty, an early indicator on sentiments of NSE Nifty50 - traded 44 points, 0.24 per cent, higher at 18,869. Asian markets too were largely positive today morning. While Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index surged 3.26 per cent, Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 0.15 per cent. South Korea’s Kospi rose 0.28 per cent in early trade.

On the other hand, all three major Wall Street indices ended flat on Friday. While Dow Jones rose 0.1 per cent, the S&P 500 lost 0.12 per cent, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.18 per cent.

Earlier on Friday, equity benchmark indices ended lower, halting their eight-day rally. The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 415.69 points or 0.66 per cent to settle at 62,868.50. The broader NSE Nifty dipped 116.40 points or 0.62 per cent to end at 18,696.10.

NTPC: State-owned power giant NTPC has recorded a 48 per cent growth in coal mining output at 12.24 million metric tonne for April-November 2022 as compared to the same period a year ago. NTPC recorded 8.27 million metric tonne (MMT) of coal production in the same period of 2021, a company statement said.

Tyre Stocks (CEAT, Apollo Tyre, JK Tyre, MRF): Appellate tribunal NCLAT has directed the Competition Commission to pass a fresh order in the matter of alleged cartelisation by tyre companies, citing the need to re-examine arithmetical and inadvertent errors as well as to review the penalty to save the domestic tyre industry. The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal's (NCLAT) order dated December 1 has come on a batch of appeals filed by the tyre makers against the ruling by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) back in August 2018.

M&M Financial: Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services' loan disbursement rose 17 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2,500 crore in November. The year-to-date disbursement at Rs 31,050 crore grew by 99 per cent. The collection efficiency was at 96 per cent for November 2022 against 94 per cent in the year-ago period. 

Inox Green Energy Services: The company has posted a net loss of Rs 11.87 crore on a consolidated basis for the quarter that ended September FY23. While revenue from operations rose marginally, the losses widened from Rs 11.58 crore in the previous quarter.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited: HAL, a state-run defence company, has received an income-tax refund order from the office of the deputy commissioner of income tax for the year 2011-12.
