Stocks in News Today, December 23: Stock markets are likely to have a negative start on Friday i.e. December 23 as SGX Nifty - an early indicator of sentiment on the NSE Nifty50 - traded over 105 points lower at 18,072 in the early trade. Asian-Pacific markets are also hinting towards a negative start as most markets traded in red in early trade. While Japan's Nikkei 225 slumped by over 282 points or 1.07 per cent, South Korea’s Kospi was down by over 36 points or 1.56 per cent. The Hang Seng index in Hong Kong too traded in red and was down by over 38 points or 0.20  per cent.

Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 348.99 points, or 1.05 per cent, to 33,027.49. The S&P 500 lost 56.05 points, or 1.45 per cent, to 3,822.39 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 233.25 points, or 2.18 per cent, to 10,476.12.
