- 7: 26 AM Vivek Ranjan Misra, Head of Fundamental Research, Karvy Stock Broking says, "The market has priced in a return of the NDA with a full majority. If this does turn out to be the case, expect a small rally in markets. If NDA fails to cross the halfway mark, or an unstable coalition assumes power, markets could decline, on the contrary, if a single party were to cross the halfway mark on its own, there could be a significant rally in markets. A note of caution- today's, results will take longer to trickle in."

- 7: 21 AM Gautam Duggad, Head of Research, Motilal Oswal Financial Services opines, "Exit polls predicted majority for NDA. There are prospects of third front diminish and we expect positive reaction in markets. We expect the markets to react positively to the exit polls. We also expect favourable reaction in the Bond and currency markets. Prediction of continuance of stable government with majority/near majority augurs well from reforms and policy agenda perspective, in our view. It removes a key overhang from the market narrative – potential of a hung verdict, formation of a third front government with no major national party at the helm.

-7:13 AM According to Amar Singh, Head - Advisory, Angel Broking Ltd, "The market is very likely to witness a rollercoaster move, as the actual results start pouring in throughout the day. Markets are hopeful that the outcome of the elections will be likely in line with exit polls results. Moreover, the markets are always of the view that a stable government at the centre would be beneficial for the economy at large and pace of the economic reforms would gather further momentum. Global cues have also been positive with clear indications of an end to the global tightening cycle.  The long-term trends for the Indian stock markets continue to be positive and present good investment opportunities for those who have the discipline and patience to stay invested."
