Stock Market Today: Following the US Wall Street positive sentiments, the Indian indices opened in the green zone in the opening bell trade session today. The BSE Sensex shot up 217 points and hit 51,566 levels while the NSE Nifty sustained above 15,000 levels by hitting 15,172 mark — gaining 56 points from its Monday close.

Speaking on the current market trends; Rohit Singre, Senior Technical Research Analyst at LKP Securities said, "Overall the market trend is bullish. The NSE Nifty has immediate support at 15,000 levels and has immediate target of 15,300 to 15,400. The trend won't chagne till the 50-stocks index is above 14,750. I would recommend buy on dips strategy till the NSE Nifty is above 14,750 levels."

Shares of Wipro, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited or BPCL, Infosys, ONGC, SBI Life Insurance, Reliance Industroes Limited or RIL, Asian Paints and HCL Technologies were among the major gainers in the opening bell today while shares of Balkrishna Industries, Hinduja Global Solutions, Torrent Pharmacutical, Star Cement, NCC and Vakrangee were among the top losers in the early morning trade session.

IT stocks led the bull run on Dalal Street as the BSE IT index jumped 1.15 per cent. IT major Wipro share price rose 2.44 per cent, Infosys shares went up 1.66 per cent, Birlasoft stock price rose 2.61 per cent, Aptech counter added 2.33 per cent, Majesco share price escalated 4.93 per cent while Tata Consultancy Services or TCS added near 0.45 per cent in the opening bell trade session.
