Stock markets—BSE and NSE — will remain closed tomorrow, July 21.  The markets will see no action in Equity, Derivative and SLB Segments on Wednesday. The segments will be closed on the account of Bakri Id on July 21, as per BSE trading holidays list. It is also the only trading holiday on the said segments in July 2021.

Meanwhile, traders and investors should know that there are as many as 14 days between January and December this year, when Equity, Derivative and SLB segments will see no trade on NSE and BSE on account of different holidays this year.    

Next, the stock markets will remain closed for one day each in August, September and October on 19th, 10th and 15th of respective months.    

Similarly, the Indian stock markets will remain closed for one day in November on account of Diwali, which is falling on 4 November 2021. Equity, Equity Derivative and SLB Segments will not be trading on these days. Also, BSE and NSE will see no trading in the said segments on November 5 and 19 on the account of Diwali Balipratipada and Gurunanak Jayanti respectively, taking the number of holidays in November to three.    

Early on, the markets remained open throughout June while in May, the stock markets were closed only for one day on Eid-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan Id) on May 13.      

The stock markets were closed for maximum days this year in April, when BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty remained close on April 2 (Good Friday), April 14 (Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti) and April 21 (Ram Navami).

Early in the day on Tuesday, the stock opened in red in the second consecutive day amid weak global cues. Nifty opened at 15,704, down 48 points or 0.31 per cent, while BSE Sensex lost over 121 points or 0.23 per cent to open at 52,432.    

At 11: 50 am on Nifty 50, UltraTech Cement, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Asian Paint, Nestle and Bajaj Auto were top gainers with 1.57%, 1.05%,0.91 %, 0.58 per cent and 0.57 per cent gains respectively. Same scrips were leading the day on BSE Sensex too
