The size of the IPO is Rs 909 crore. Out of which, the fresh issue of equity shares aggregating is up to Rs 657 crore and offer for sale aggregating is up to Rs 252 crore.

The price band has been fixed Rs 303-Rs 306 per share.

Shyam Metalics and Energy is an integrated metal producing company based in India with a focus on long steel products and ferro alloys. The company is amongst the largest producers of ferro alloys in terms of installed capacity in India, as of February 2021.

As of March 31, 2020, the company says it is one of the leading players in terms of pellet capacity and the fourth-largest player in the sponge iron industry in terms of sponge iron capacity in India. "Since the commencement of their operations in fiscal 2005, the company has delivered a robust EBITDA in each of the financial years."

India steel demand has increased at a CAGR of approximately 5.4% per cent during fiscal 2015 to fiscal 2020. Going forward, steel demand is expected to recover and continue its strong growth rate at 5 per cent to 6 per cent through fiscal 2025 supported by the government-led initiatives, especially affordable housing and infrastructure projects in metro, road, and urban infra space, which is more steel intensive, the company has mentioned in its Red Herring Documents filed with ROC.
