The Indian markets on Tuesday continued the gaining streak to end in the green, as Sensex jumped over 400 points and Nifty50 above 16600 at the marker close, led by banking and financial services.

The BSE Sensex gained over 400 points or 0.73 per cent to 55,599, while Nifty50 surged around 120 points or 0.78 per cent to 16,6246.6 levels at the market close today. While the mid-cap index grew 384 points or 1.43 per cent higher to 27,276.7 levels at the market close on Tuesday.

Out of 50 scrips on Nifty50, 35 advanced, 15 declined at the market close on Tuesday. Bajaj twins — Bajaj Finserv and Bajaj Finance grew most at the market close today, wherein the former grew by around 8 per cent and the latter by over 3 per cent today.

Similarly, Metal stocks such as Hindalco, Adani Ports and Tata Steel grew between 3.5-4 per cent at the market close on Tuesday. 

On the contrary, FMCG stock such as Britannia and Nestle India slumped most by around 1.5 per cent, followed by Asian Paint, HDFC and Infosys declined by around 1 per cent at the market close. 

Almost all sectoral indices closed in the green, except for the Nifty FMCG and IT. Nifty Metal jumped most in the trade today, by around 3 per cent, followed by banking and financial stocks.
