Sensex reshuffle: Auto maker Tata Motors is all set to join the list of 30 well-established and financially sound companies listed on the BSE. The company that will be replaced by Tata Motors is a pharma giant. The name of the company is Dr. Reddy's Laboratories.

The rejig in the benchmark index is a part of the periodic reshuffle done in the index. The reshuffle happens twice a year -- June and December. It is based on a float-adjusted market cap weighted methodology.

Zee Business panellist and market expert Siddarth Sedani said that the rejig is being done on the basis of performance basis. From an investment perspective, he said that Tata Motors is a good buy, adding that passenger vehicle growth has been phenomenal.

Tata Motors will become the third auto stock to join the Sensex list. The two others are Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki. From the pharma sector, Sun Pharma will be the only healthcare company among the list of 30 companies.

Asian Paints; Axis Bank; Bajaj Finance; Bajaj Finserv; Tata Motors (to replace Dr Reddy’s Lab); Bharti Airtel; HCL Technologies; HDFC Bank; Hindustan Unilever; Housing Development Finance Corp (HDFC); ICICI Bank; IndusInd Bank; Infosys; ITC; Kotak Mahindra Bank;  Larsen & Toubro; Mahindra & Mahindra; Maruti Suzuki India; Nestle India; NTPC; Power Grid; Reliance Industries; State Bank of India; Sun Pharma; Tata Consultancy Services; Tata Steel; Tech Mahindra; Titan; UltraTech and Wipro.

Meanwhile, shares of Tata Motors closed marginally lower at Rs 416.65 apiece. Dr Reddy's Labs, also ended flat at Rs 4471.30 per share.

In another related development, Adani Total Gas and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited will be replaced by Adani Power and IHCL on the BSE 100 index.
