The Indian benchmark indices fell around 1 per cent in Wednesday's afternoon deals amid feeble global cues. At 12:35, the S&P BSE Sensex fell 479.47 points, or 0.96 per cent, to 49,571.97 levels and the broader Nifty 50 index lost 140.95 points or 0.95 per cent to trade at 4,673.80. Meanwhile, certain stocks were in action in either direction based on reports linked to them. Here is a list of few such stocks:

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.: Down 8.54%. The company said the government will sell up to a 15 % stake in the company through an offer for sale.

Pharma stocks buzzing: Nifty Pharma stocks were trading 1.15% up. All constituents of the Nifty Pharma index trade on a positive note. Covid cases are rising globally. 

Granules India: The stock was buzzing and was trading 2.08% higher. Paracetamol prices up. Granules India was also recommended in stock of the day. 

Paint stocks + Pidilite buzzing: Paint stocks were trading higher after a sharp fall in crude oil prices in the last few days. Pidilite was trading 0.59% higher. 

Metal Stocks: The metal stocks were under pressure and Nifty Metal was trading 2.33% lower. China metal prices falling and there are demand concerns due to rising corona cases. 

MMTC buzzing: The stock was trading 3.09% higher after Zee Business exclusively reported that the government is unlikely to extend the Expression of Interest (EoI) timeline for Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) as it is confident that the divestment process of the company will enter to its second phase in March 2021.
