Domestic stocks markets were trading with a gain of more than 0.70 per cent on Monday’s noon deals. At 12:56 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading with a gain of 362.82 points or 0.74% at 49,569.28, while the Nifty 50 index was trading 131.45 points or 0.89% higher at 14,954.60. Meanwhile, certain stocks were in action in either direction based on reports linked to them. Here is a list of few such stocks:

Stocks in News 

Cipla: Up 1.88%. The pharma company today announced that it has signed a royalty-free, non-exclusive voluntary licensing agreement with Eli Lilly and Company, the USA for the manufacture and commercialization of the drug baricitinib for Covid-19 indication.

Vivimed Labs: Buzzing and trading 5% higher. Hyderabad-based Vivimed Labs Limited today said that it has received approval from the Government of India to Manufacture and market Favipiravir Tablet 200 mg & 400 mg under Vivimed’s own brand name “Favulous” across India. It is used for the treatment of mild to moderate cases of COVID-19.

Dr Reddy's Lab: Buzzing and trading 3.32% higher. In a major breakthrough against the coronavirus infection, a drug developed by DRDO got approval for emergency use by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI). The drug 2-deoxy-D-glucose comes in powder form in a sachet, which needs to be taken orally by dissolving it in water. The drug has been developed by one of the DRDO labs, the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) in collaboration with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. Dr Reddy’s will produce the drug and has plans to launch it in the market in one month. 

Jubilant Pharmova: Up 0.96%. Subsidiary Jubilant Pharma Limited has received a favourable and unanimous judgment from the United States Court of Appeals summarily affirming Jubilant's earlier favourable rulings from the US Patent Office ("PTAB") and the US International Trade Commission ("ITC"). These two rulings by the Appellate Court denied the appeals filed by Bracco Diagnostics, Inc ("Bracco"). 

Results Reaction 

UltraTech Cement: Drops 1.34%. The cement company UltraTech has reported a 38.8% YoY decline in profit at Rs 1,777.5 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021 (Q4FY21). It had reported a net profit of Rs 2,906 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.

Navin Fluorine: Down 4.16%. The chemical company has reported a 72.9% YoY decline in the consolidated profit at Rs 73.2 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 270 crore in the same period of the previous financial year. 

Avenue Supermarts: Down 0.76%. The owner and operator of the retail chain D-Mart Avenue Supermarts have reported a 52.6% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 413.9 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had reported a profit of Rs 271.3 crore in the same period of the previous financial year. 

IDFC First Bank: Down 2.11%. The private lender has reported a 78% YoY jump in the net profit at Rs 128 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 72 crore during the corresponding January-March quarter a year ago. 

Bandhan Bank: Up 0.42%. The private lender's profit falls 80% to Rs 103 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had reported a profit of Rs 517 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. 

DCB Bank: Up 3.42%.  The private lender has reported a 19% YoY rise in the profit at Rs 78 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021, against a profit of Rs 69 crore posted in the same quarter of the previous financial year. 

CSB Bank: Buzzing and trading 7.90% higher. The private lender has reported a profit of Rs 43 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021, as against a loss of Rs 60 crore posted in the same quarter of the last financial year.

MOIL: Buzzing and trading with 8.35% up. 

Angel Broking: Buzzing and trading with 8.44% up. 

GMDC: The mining company was trading above 10% upper circuit with 16.69% higher. 

Eris Lifesciences: Buzzing and trading 5.02% up. 

HOEC: Hits 10% upper circuit and trading 11.41% higher. 

OMCs: Gaining and shares of the oil marketing companies, like IOC – 2.59% up; HPCL – 1.33% up; BPCL – 1.70% up, were trading with gains. 

Agri related stocks: Buzzing and agriculture-related stocks, like Dhanuka Agri – 5.91% up; Rallis India – 5.12% up; Kaveri Seeds – 3.57% up; UPL – 4.38% up, were trading higher. 

Banking Stocks: Moving and Nifty Bank index was trading with a gain of 0.86%, while Nifty PSU Banks and Nifty Private Banks were trading with gains of 2.11% and 0.75% respectively. 

Auto Stocks: Moving up with Nifty Auto index trading 0.92% higher. Auto stocks, like Bharat Forge – 3.02% up; Tata Motors – 1.68% up; M&M – 1.34% up; Bajaj Auto – 0.65% up; and Ashok Leyland – 0.44% up among others, were trading with gain. 

Sugar Stocks: Buzzing with sugar stocks, like Dhampur sugar – 8.59% up; Dwarikesh Sugar –up 6.61% up; Shree Renuka Sugars – up 4.92%; and Balrampur Chini – 3.71% up among others were trading with gains of more than 3%.
