11: 15 am: Nifty Bank saw a spurt as the banking index went past 40,500. The index gained 539 points to 40,569.40. Aided by RBL Bank, IDFC First Bank, Axis BankIt, it hit day's high of  40,587.35.

11:00 am Stock Market benchmarks Nifty and Sensex gained over a half per cent each in the morning trade. Sensex was trading at 61,265.12, up 341.62 or 0.56%, while Nifty 50 too was up at 18, 278. Banking and financial stocks were leading the rally as Bajaj finserv, HDFC and Bajaj finance were top gainers. 

Meanwhile, Nifty Bank was trading above 40, 000-mark. The banking index gained 380 points or 0.9% to 40,390.55 arund 10.50 am. 

Earlier in the Market Open....

Domestic equity benchmarks Nifty50 and S&P BSE Sensex started Friday's trading session in the green. Nifty 50 gained 0.36% or 65 points to trade at 18,243.30, while Sensex started the last trading session of the week at 61,044.54. Nifty Bank Index opened at record high of 40,192.65 and went on to hit 40,292.05 in the early trade. ONGC, HDFC and Titan were top gainers on Nifty. Hindalco, Asian Paint and Coal Indian dragged market the most. 

As many as 36 shares advanced, while 14  declined on Nifty50. Except for Nifty Metal and Nifty Pharma, which were marginally down, all major indices traded positive this morning. Nifty Financial Services was up 134.65 (0.7%) at 19,323.50, while Nifty MidCap Index gained 48.40 (0.56%) in the morning trade to 8,732.15.  

Titan, HDFC, Bajaj Finserv were top gainers on Sensex, which clocked high of 61,379.70, up over 450 points minutes after market open. 

In the preopen, Sensex and Nifty were seen trading flat as even SGX Nifty traded with positive bias. 24 shares advanced, while 6 declined on 30-share index in the pre-open. Meanwhile, the Asian Markets opened mixed on Thursday as Japanese Nikkei 225, Hong Kong's Hang Sang indices gained, while Shanghai index was trading in the red in the morning trade around 8.30 am.

In the global markets, the Dow Jones closed marginally lower by 0.02% on Thursday, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite closed by adding 14 points and 94 points respectively.
