The news, however, failed to push ONGC share, which closed on Friday’s trading session at Rs 78.50, Rs 1.50 less than its previous trading session.

Earlier, in order to strengthen gas infrastructure in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid a foundation of City Gas Distribution (CGD) projects in 129 districts, including five in Jharkhand, in November 2018.

Jharkhand’s five districts—Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Giridih and Dhanbad were picked in the ninth round of CGD bidding.

“Gas infrastructure is being strengthened in the country. The National Gas Grid project, Jagdishpur-Haldia, and Bokaro-Dhamra will give a new lease of life to Sindri (Dhanbad), Gorakhpur and Barauni fertilizer plants,” PM Modi had said.
