Interesting developments and outlooks are being seen in NBFCs. In this regard, Zee Business' Senior Research Analyst Deepanshu Bhandari spoke to Devanshi Ashar, Research Analyst and Anchor at Zee Business, to understand the NBFCs’ growth in FY23, AUM growth till end of FY22, positives and negatives and more.

Responding to the question by Deepanshu Bhandari, about developments of NBFCs, Devanshi said, “NBFCs were seen in pressure from last 2-3 years and the economical updates of NBFCs’ AUM were not increasing but now various reports are suggesting that in FY23, the growth will increase from 8-10% in AUM across NBFCs.”

The two categories where major growth can be seen are the retail category and the financial category.

Explaining about headwinds and tailwinds, Ashar said, “According to the reports, 6-8% AUM growth will be seen this year i.e., approx. Rs. 27 lakh crore in FY22.”

She added, “There are signs of a sharp improvement in the economy, benefits of retailing and liquidity situation in NBFC are improving.”

Devanshi further said, “Home loan, vehicle finance and gold loan are the three categories to be majorly focused on. Banks are now more focused on retails, lending at lower levels and having more liquidity. On the other hand, because of the new rules, GNPAs will increase slightly. But overall, after a long time, 8-10% growth will be seen in NBFCs.”
