Notably, unique business model is important as it ensures it remains unaffected by the market mood between the IPO subscription closing date to listing date, thereby ensuring good listing gains.

Speaking on the IPO investors finding it difficult to choose the right one among the various public issues on offer, Anil Singhvi said, "Date of close for IPO subscription and IPO listing date is important as during this period market mood can change. In fact, even a 300-500-point movement in Nifty can change the fate of an investor in a particular IPO."

On what should be the ideal strategy to make money while bidding for an IPO, the Market Guru said, "One should look at the business model of the public issue. For example, MTAR IPO, Anupam Rasayan IPO and Nazara IPO have a unique business model as they have countable competitors in the business space they belong. On the other side, if you take Kalyan Jewellers IPO, it has various competitors to compete with. So, if the market moves 500 points up then it will get benefit on the listing date and at the same time if the market mood is bad, then its listing gains will definitely get hit by the latest triggers of the market."
