The market on Tuesday breadth flat with positive growth, both Sensex and Nifty 50 ended 42 and 46 points higher today respectively. Metal, Pharma and Realty stocks helped the benchmark indices to close in green.

Out of 50 heavyweights, 18 scrips declined and 32 ended in positive. Adani Ports, Asian Paints, Tata Consumer, JSW Steel gained most, with over three per cent rise in today's trade. The least performer today was Grasim, HCL Tech, IndusInd bank and ICICI Bank each of these declining by one per cent during today's session.

The Nifty 50 has declined over 75 points from day's high today. Whereas Nifty Bank extended decline for the second straight session by over 450 points in today's trade. Banking and financial stocks continue to drag the market for the second row in a day.

Broader markets such as small and mid-cap outperformed the benchmark indices. HEG from small cap ambit turned out to be showstopper with near 19 per cent during today's trade. While SRF pushed midcap to end positive, to end eight per cent higher today.

Cadila empowered the Nifty Pharma to rise above one and half per cent higher today. The stock rose near 4 per cent during today's session to end at Rs 456 apiece. Meanwhile, Nifty Metal continues its gaining streak for the seventh straight session today.

Besides, Nifty Realty also pumped the market to end at positive note, as the index rose over one percent. Sobha Ltd took the lead in the realty pack and rose over 16 per cent to end at Rs 499 per equity share.
