The Indian stock markets are expected to make new records today as the SGX Nifty is up by 90 points today and breached 16,800 mark for the first time. Among other important triggers for stock markets on Monday, is the statement of US Fed Chair Jerome Powell at the Jackson Hole Meeting.

The Fed Chair has indicated at ending stimulus package by the end of this year. He also said that there will be no hurry in increasing the interest rates. His statement catapulted Nasdaq and S&P which made new records. Dow closed up 242 points on Saturday.

Dow Futures’ lacklustre show. The hurricane at Mexico coast forces crude oil prices to jump as Brent Crude crosses the USD 73 mark.

Lot of action in bullion as Gold prices go up by USD 25 and were trading at USD 1810. Silver prices go above US 24.

The Board of Bharti Airtel gives its approval for the Rs 21,000 cr rights issue. The issue price has been decided at Rs 535. For every 14 shares one share will be allotted.

The PLI scheme for textile sector gets a nod from Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
