In its proactive inspection, auto major Mahindra and Mahindra has decided to recall nearly 30,000 vehicles over fluid pipe issue. The company has also announced the replacement of a fluid pipe in some of the Pickup vehicles manufactured between January 2020 - February 2021 for suspicion of improper assembly.

The company in its statement also said, this inspection and replacement is limited to a batch of 29,878 vehicles and is keeping in line with the company’s customer-centric approach.

The inspection and subsequent rectification will be carried out free of cost for all customers, who will be individually contacted by the company, Mahindra said in the statement ahead.

It said, the company is proactively carrying out this activity in an endeavour to ensure a hassle-free experience for its customers. This action is also in compliance with the voluntary code on vehicle recall.

The Mahindra Group is one of the largest multinational federation of companies with a presence in over 100 countries. It enjoys a leadership position in farm equipment, utility vehicles, information technology and financial services in India and is the world’s largest tractor company by volume.

The counter at around 02:15 pm was trading around 0.5 per cent higher to Rs 778.7 per share on the BSE, as compared to a 0.04 per cent decline in the S&P BSE Sensex. The stock has been trading over Rs 770 per share levels since yesterday.

The company has reported around a 43 per cent jump in production to 18393 units during July 2021 year-on-year basis, while sales grew by almost 35 per cent to 17666 units YoY and exports spurted near 92 per cent to 1621 units YoY in the month of July 2021.
