IRCTC net profit was down 62% at Rs 78 cr in Q3 FY21 vs Rs 206 cr (YoY). Revenues of IRCTC were down 69% to Rs 224 cr from Rs 716 cr (YoY). However, the revenue increased 151% from Rs 88.5 cr in the previous quarter.

IRCTC Segmental Revenue Breakup:

Revenue from catering services was down 82% to Rs 49 cr from Rs 269 cr (YoY) while  internet ticketing saw a 37% fall to Rs 143 cr from Rs 227 cr (YoY). Rail Neer (Packaged Drinking water) and Tourism business was badly hit due to coronavirus coming at 17 cr and 15.5 cr from Rs 59 cr (YoY) and Rs 95 cr (YoY).

IRCTC is one of the largest hospitality and catering companies of the country with a vast gamut of businesses in hospitality and catering spread over passenger trains, railway stations, station premises and other ancillary business activities. RCTC manages the entire on-board catering services of Indian Railways in more than 460 passenger trains with pantry cars that includes Rajdhani trains, Shatabdi trains, Duronto Trains, Gatimaan Express and Mail/Express trains and also in newly introduced passenger trains such as Vande Bharat Express and Tejas Trains. In all the above mentioned trains, the on-board catering services are being provided from the pantry cars.
 
IRCTC's e-ticketing service has continued to go from strength to strength ever since it came into the market and now accounts for 70% of reserved tickets in 2018-19 on Indian Railways booked online. On an average, more than 7.78 lakh Tickets were sold daily through IRCTC's website during 2018-19.
 
IRCTC is probably the only organization offering packages ranging from Rs. 900 per day to USD 900 per day. IRCTC operates a website www.irctctourism.com has a plethora of offerings including Rail based Packages, Hotels, Railway Retiring Rooms to provide the users a One Stop Solution to all their travel needs. IRCTC organizes packages to various destinations for which Indian Railways earmarks seats/berths in trains for the to and fro journey. These packages originate from different parts of the country and offer tours to pilgrim destinations, leisure hubs etc. At present IRCTC operates more than 70 Rail Tour Packages.
