Domestic stock markets were trading with over one per cent gains in Friday’s noon deals. The sentiments were boosted after a report that said the government is working on a new stimulus package. At 1:02 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex gained 652.58 points or 1.32% and was trading higher at 50,217.44. The Nifty 50 index was trading 189.50 points or 1.27% higher at 15,095.55. Meanwhile, certain stocks were in action in either direction based on reports linked to them. Here is a list of few such stocks:

Earnings Reaction 

HPCL: Up 1.57%. It has reported a 28.2% QoQ rise in the profits at Rs 3,018 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 2,354.6 crore in the previous quarter ended December 31, 2021

Havells India:  Down 3.11%. Noida-based electrical equipment company has reported a 70.6% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 302 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 177 crore in the same quarter of the last financial year. 

Torrent Power: Bullish and trading 6.24% higher. The company has reported a YoY consolidated profit of Rs 397 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021, against a loss of Rs 275 crore posted in the same quarter of the previous financial year. 

JK Lakshmi Cement: Bullish and trading 8.87% higher. It has reported a 34.7% YoY rise in the profit at Rs 136 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had reported a profit of Rs 101 crore in the same quarter last year. 

Cosmo Films: Up 1.87%. It has reported a 252.4% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 74 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 21 crore in the same quarter last year. 

Plastiblends India: Down 1.89%. It has reported a 140% YoY rise in the consolidated profit at Rs 12 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a profit of Rs 5 crore in the same quarter last year. 

 

BPCL + Other divestment stocks

BPCL: Up 1.98%. Bids for divestment of BPCL are likely to come by end of July as the government has provided virtual data room to the bidders. Now, it depends on the bidders that how soon they place their bids. 

PSU Stocks: The divestment process of the PSUs like SCI – up 0.35%, CONCOR – down 0.64% and BEML- up 1.13% has gained a pace, sources informed Zee Business. According to the sources, the Cabinet Secretary held a review meeting on divestment yesterday and asked DIPAM and related ministries to remove the bottlenecks. The secretary insists on meeting the divestment target. Disinvestment of SCI, CONCOR, BEML, BPCL and Air India were reviewed yesterday. 

Banks + High Beta Financials Gain: Nifty Bank was trading 2.19% higher. Nifty PSU Banks index and Nifty Private Bank index were trading 2.06% and 2.19% higher. Nifty Financial Services Index was trading 1.96% higher. Shares Like IndusInd Bank (up 3.17%), RBL – 0.32%, Bandhan Bank – 1.22%, Piramal Enterprises – 3.31%, among others were trading higher. 

Sugar stocks: Fall on government action. Shares like Balrampur Chini – down 2.66%, Dhampur Sugar – down 4.03%, Shree Renuka Sugars – down 1.68%, Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar – down 4.37%, and Mawana Sugars Ltd – up 2.24% among others, were trading low today. The government on Thursday slashed subsidy on sugar exports from Rs 6,000 per tonne to Rs 4,000 per tonne with immediate effect in view of firm global prices.

TCI Express: Trading 4.06% higher. The shares of TCI Express have jumped 40% this week on strong earnings, commentary. 

Natco Pharma: Trading 4.18% higher. Jumps on permission to make drugs for Black Fungus

Real Estate Stocks: Rally. Shares, like Godrej Properties Ltd – up 1.59%, Sobha – up 0.39%, DLF – up 0.39%, Prestige Estates – up 0.24%, among others were trading higher. 

Power Stocks: In Action. Shares like Torrent Power – up 6.40%, Adani Transmission – up 5%, Tata Power – 1.75%, NTPC – up 0.49%, NHPC – up 0.59% among others were trading higher.
