Stock market today: The domestic equity indices on Thursday, November 9, opened on a muted note amid selling in bank, financial services, FMCG, and information technology (IT) counters.

At the time of filing this report, both indies were flat by 0.08 per cent: the S&P BSE Sensex was down 47.8 points at 64,927.81 and the NSE Nifty was down 18.55 points at 19,424.95.

Conversely, the Nifty Mid Cap 100 and Small Cap 100 opened in positive territory.

High-beta Nifty Bank was up 0.13 per cent at 43,603.7.

BUZZING STOCKS 

Mtar Technologies shares slipped over 8 per cent after the company posted mixed Q2 results.

New India Assurance shares were down over 5 per cent a day after posting its September quarter results.

SKF India shares were down over 5 per cent a day after the company announced its Q2 numbers.

Gujarat Alkelines shares were down over 3 per cent a day after the company announced its Q2 numbers. 

Conversely, Brigade Enterprises shares traded over 7 per cent higher after posting healthy Q2 results.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders shares were up over 3 per cent after the company announced its September quarter results.

IRB Infrastructure Developers shares were up over 3 per cent after October toll collection increased by 30 per cent year-on-year.

Power Finance Corporation shares were up over 4 per cent a day after the company posted its Q2 results.

Bata India shares traded over 2 per cent higher a day after the company reported Q2 numbers. 

Eris Lifesciences shares were up over 2 per cent a day after the company posted Q2 numbers.

GLOBAL MARKETS 

Asian share markets rallied on Thursday, the dollar was weaker after most U.S. stocks edged higher, and the S&P 500 recorded its longest winning streak in two years, with investors on high alert for signs that global interest rates have peaked.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was flat, although up 4.6 per cent so far this month.
