Stock market today: Domestic equity indices on Thursday, October 26, opened in negative territory, tracking weakness from global stocks and continued tensions in the Middle East. Heavy selling pressure was seen in IT, metals, and real estate stocks, which were trading with a cut of over 1 per cent.

At the time of filing this report, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 303.19 points, or 0.47 per cent at 63,745.87, and the NSE Nifty was down 93.4 points, or 0.49 per cent at 19,028.75.

Nifty Mid Cap 100 and Small Cap 100 also traded with a cut of nearly 1 per cent.

Nifty Bank was down 0.49 per cent at 42,620.7 levels.

BUZZING STOCKS 

Sona BLW Precision Forgings shares traded over 3 per cent higher after the company reported its Q2 numbers.

Sonata Software shares were up over 3 per cent after posting mixed results.

Share India Securities shares were up nearly 2 per cent after posting the best-ever quarterly results.

Gulf Oil Lubricant shares were up over 1 per cent after posting Q2 results.

Conversely, Jubilant FoodWorks shares were down over 5 per cent after posting in-line yet weak results.

Macrotech Developers shares were down over 5 per cent after the company inked an agreement with NewCold India to exit wholly-owned subsidiary Palava Induslogic 3 Pvt Ltd (PI3PL) for Rs 154 crore.

Affle India shares were down over 2 per cent after its board scheduled a meeting to mull over the capital raising plan via the preferential issue route.

Somany Ceramics shares were down nearly 2 per cent after the company may consider a share buyback today.

GLOBAL MARKETS 

Asian stocks slid to 11-month lows on Wednesday, U.S. futures dropped and the dollar surged as Treasury yields spiked back toward peaks on fears that U.S. interest rates will stay high.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell 1 per cent. Japan's Nikkei fell 2 per cent. Alphabet shares slid another 2 per cent after hours and pulled Nasdaq futures down by nearly 1 per cent.
