Stock market today: The Indian share market on Tuesday, August 29, closed marginally higher, tracking global cues. The buying interest was seen in bank, auto, financial services, IT, metal, realty, and oil & gas stocks. It was the second straight session of the market settling in the green.

At close, both indices were up over 0.12 per cent. The S&P BSE Sensex was up 0.12 per cent or 79.22 points at 65,075.82 while the NSE Nifty was up 0.19 per cent or 36.6 points, at 19,342.65.

In the Nifty 50 basket, 13 stocks declined and 37 stocks advanced. In the broader market, Nifty Mid Cap 100 and Small Cap 100 ended strong.

On the sectoral front, Nifty Bank ended unchanged at 44,495.25.

NIFTY 50 STOCKS 

Jio Financial Services, UPL Tata Steel, Hero MotoCorp, and Hindalco were the major winners. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel, HUL, Reliance Industries, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, and Axis Bank were the top laggards. 

BUZZING STOCKS 

Jio Financial Services ended as Nifty's top gainer up 5 per cent a day after Reliance Industries' annual general meeting.

Gokaldas Exports hit the upper circuit in the early trade after the company announced acquisition plans.

India Pesticides were up nearly 20 per cent on BSE.

BEML shares closed over 13 per cent higher on strong order book position. 

Hero MotoCorp stocks were up over 1 per cent and ended among the top gainer on NSE after the company rolled out Karizma XMR 210 at Rs 1.7 lakh.
