The National Stock Exchange (NSE) will hold Diwali Muhurat Trading on November 4, 2021, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.  Muhurat trading is the auspicious stock market trading, which is conducted for an hour on Diwali (Deepawali), by the stock market exchanges.

"It is a symbolic and old ritual, that has been retained and observed for ages, by the trading community.  As Diwali also marks the beginning of the New Year, it is believed that muhurat trading on this day brings wealth and prosperity throughout the year," as per NSE.

NSE Muhurat Trading session will kickstart at 18:15PM on November 4, while the pre-open session will remain in business between 18:00 to 18:08 ours IST.  

The auspicious trading session (Muhurat Trading Session) on NSE will commence at 6:15 and close ta 7:15 pm this Diwali. The benchmark indices usually end positive during this session, however, the volumes witnessed during Muhurat Trading are lower than regular trading hours.  

Call auction will be placed between 6.20 pm to 7:05 pm, as per the information  

Also, trading on Zerodha will be free as the brokerage charges for all segments will be reversed, said the discount broker. "In line with our tradition over the last 11 years, brokerage charges for all trades during the Muhurat trading session will be reversed. Zero brokerage on all Intraday, F&O, and commodity trades."

Zerodha further informed that All MIS and CO positions will be squared off 10 minutes prior to market closing. After Market Orders (AMO) will be collected until 5:57 pm for equities and 6:10 pm for F&O on November 4th to be placed in the Muhurat trading session, it said.

Meanwhile, Nifty 50 was trading flat with positive hours, while S&P BSE Sensex was up over 150 points, minutes before closing bells. Nifty Bank remained the only silver lining in the otherwise sluggish market. The banking index went past 41,000 and hit record high of 41,829 on Monday.
